DAY 1 – WELCOME TO LIMA, ¡CAPITAL OF PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY!

Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, ANDINA AMAZONICA will take care of your personalized assistance in the country. Your host guide will be waiting for you with a sign and your contact name, ready to assist you and take you to your hotel. During the trip to your hotel, your guide will give you an introduction of our city, the benefits that the capital has and some tips so that you can make the most of your stay in the capital. This day will be to relax, visit the surroundings and enjoy the city in your own style, resting for your trip to the Dunes of Ica!

DAY 2 – BUGGY ADVENTURE & SANDBOARDING!!!

This day the adventure starts very early to leave the city to our first activity in “Paracas”, where after a delicious breakfast, we embark for the sea excursion to the famous and incredible “Ballestas Islands”.

After having fun for a couple of hours, we continue the excursion, this time visiting one of the famous traditional vineyards, cradle of our flagship drink “Pisco” and also Wine, where in the tour, you will be able to taste the different brands, flavors and qualities of these blessed drinks made of distilled grapes. At lunch time, you choose the place and the exquisite dishes to taste with the recommendations of our host guide.

After lunch, we visit the “Oasis of Huacachina”, after a rest and the photographic shots, ¡we start with the real adventure on wheels! With our Buggy we will go through the beautiful dunes in endless fun, not enough with this activity, they will be waiting for us for the next activity of Sandboarding, where we will slide downhill, taming the sand waves and dodging the difficulties on it.

By sunset and de-stressed by so much fun, we return to the city of Lima in our transportation and with our host guide, arriving at night to our hotel and ready for a well deserved rest.

DAY 3 – FLYING FROM LIMA TO THE WHITE CITY OF AREQUIPA

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up to take you to the airport for your flight to the white city of Arequipa, so called because the colonial constructions such as the cathedral and other buildings are made from lava of volcanic origin called “Sillar”.

After settling into the hotel and leaving your belongings, your city guide will take you on a tour of the wonderful historic center, you will visit the famous “Museo Santuario Andino”, which houses the mummy Juanita; After learning the history of the ice lady, you will continue the itinerary with a visit to the “Convent of Santa Catalina”, an exquisite citadel built exclusively for cloistered nuns in the XVI century; to finish the tour, you will stop at the Plaza and “Mirador de Yanahuara”, from this point, the panoramic view of the city of Arequipa and its Misti Volcano is simply exceptional.

DAY 4 – FROM AREQUIPA TO CHIVAY

This day we leave for one of the most picturesque and colorful towns in Peru, “Chivay”, our journey begins leaving the beautiful white city and crossing the fertile valleys and ravines, making stops of interest to photograph the landscapes and especially the “Vicuñas”, South American camelid, wildlife within the area that corresponds to the “National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas”, a reserve that protects the life and habitat of such elegant and precious camelid.

We will also be able to see migratory birds in the different wetlands of the landscape. Following the trip, we will stop at the famous “Mirador de Patapampa” to contemplate the volcanoes and their most outstanding snow-capped peaks that surround the city of Arequipa: Misti, Hualca Hualca and Ubinas.

Finally we arrive to Chivay and before going to sleep it is optional to take advantage of the thermal mineral waters of the area, which according to the practices and beliefs of the local people, the waters contain minerals with healing properties.

DAY 5 – THE FLIGHT OF THE CONDOR

This day, early after breakfast, we go to the famous viewpoint “Cruz del Condor”, where you can appreciate the depths of the Colca Canyon, its grandeur and eroded landscape, habitat of this majestic and immense bird “The Andean Condor”, considered the largest flying bird on the planet. After appreciating and enjoying the flight of the condors, we will visit some of the villages of the Colca Valley, where you can make friends with the local people, wear their colorful costumes for photos and buy their handicrafts and other souvenirs.

Finally, we take you back to your hotel located in a wonderful and cozy space in Chivay to enjoy the benefits and services they have for guests.

DAY 6 – FROM CHIVAY TO PUNO

This day, you will have the opportunity to stay longer in bed and after an appetizing breakfast enjoy the hotel and its surroundings, after lunch, your driver will pick you up to take you in the private van to the beautiful city of Puno, taking an average of 5 hours driving, once in Puno, we will leave you at your hotel where your city guide will be waiting for you to offer you the information of the city of Puno and the itinerary of the following days.

DAY 7 – FLOATING ISLANDS IN THE TITICACA LAKE

This day you will navigate the highest lake in the world, located at 3,800 m.a.s.l. (12,506 ft), in a boat or motorboat, from the dock of the city’s bay, passing through the reed banks towards one of the beautiful floating islands “Los Uros” that were created by its inhabitants since time immemorial, survived the Inca invasion, the Spanish conquest and are still in use today. The floating islands of Uros, arose from the need of ancient man to gain land for cultivation and to inhabit them. Andina Amazónica takes you to know the way of life, the customs of its inhabitants and the way they are constantly renewing these islands to prevent them from submerging in its waters.

After visiting the floating islands of the Uros, we continue our excursion visiting the “Taquile Island”, whose inhabitants and especially their “Textile Art” were decorated by UNESCO as “Intangible Cultural Heritage”, whose origins date back to ancestral cultures such as the Pucara, Colla and Inca.

On this island, as soon as you disembark from the boat, your host family will be waiting for you at the port to assist you and take you home to share a banquet with a panoramic view of the lake. After enjoying a tasty lunch and the dreamlike scenery, we return to the hotel in Puno to rest.

DAY 8 – BY TRAIN THROUGH THE ALTIPLANO TO THE ¡SACRED CUSCO!

This morning, we board the luxurious “Peru Rail Titicaca” train, where the travel time will be approximately 10 and a half hours, a time you won’t want the journey to end because of the breathtaking panoramic views that envelop the altiplano, dazzling snow-capped peaks, mountains, farmlands and ravines that link plains and mountain ranges. The attention on board the train is first class, live show, cars designed for the comfort of the traveler, food and beverages, open air observatory car for your delight. Once you arrive at the train station in the city of Cusco, we will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the city.

DAY 9 – EXPLORING THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

After a warm night and an excellent breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the adventure and get to know a part of our fabulous Sacred Valley of the Incas:

The beautiful village of “Chinchero”, of typical traditional layout, built on the great terraces of Inca cultivation, with its traditional popular market, where you can still see coming from the heights and hamlets to the indigenous settlers, bringing their high Andean products and performing the barter or exchange of products, also in Chinchero you can find beautiful small squares, original Inca streets, Huacas or shrines and the great colonial church built on an Inca structure, which was possibly a very important shrine throughout Chinchero, inside there are beautiful murals made in the S. XVI as well as its canvases of the Incas. The most outstanding canvas is that of the “Virgin of Monserrat” attributed to the indigenous artist Francisco Chihuantito, where at first glance you can see the signature of the artist on this beautiful canvas.

The “Salt Flat of Maras”, where we will observe all the active wells and worked by man since ancient times until today, the guide will provide full information on why and how the wells are fed with salt water from inside the mountain, the process and salt harvesting.

Then we visit the archaeological site of “Moray”, considered as the Inca laboratories, where our ancestors captured all their agricultural knowledge related to atmospheric phenomena, astronomy and the lunar calendar to study, understand, develop and genetically modify the native products of the coast, highlands and jungle, which is why today the Peruvian territory produces more than 4,000 varieties of potato, national pride!

In the afternoon, we return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day enjoying its services, surroundings and facilities.

DAY 10 – CANOEING ON THE SACRED RIVER OF THE INCAS

This day and after an invigorating breakfast, we pick you up from the hotel to the base camp to start one of the most exciting activities that will put your adrenaline to the limit, canoeing in the river that was one of the most sacred of the ancient times “The Vilcanota”.

At the base camp, your guides will give you the complete equipment for your safety such as: helmet, wetsuit, life vest, paddles; where we will also have the support at all times of the self-rescue raft and safety lines in case any adventurer falls into the water. After a safety talk and training on the use of the equipment, we begin the adventure paddling downstream and going through class II and III rapids for an average of 2 hours and a half. In the activity the guide will perform some demonstrations in the water, in safe areas of course and also have the opportunity to jump from a bridge and swim in the waters of the river if you wish.

After an appetizing lunch, we will visit the Architectural Complex of “Ollantaytambo”, an excellent place to learn about Inca architecture and engineering, reflected by our ancestors in the elaboration and work of the stone blocks for the construction of the Great Temple of the Sun. Ollantaytambo is a clear example of the ability of the Andean man to build architectural wonders without using today’s sophisticated technology. In the afternoon, we return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day enjoying its services, surroundings and facilities.

DAY 11 – MACHUPICCHU, ¡WONDER OF THE MODERN WORLD!

Finally, the long awaited day has arrived! After an energetic breakfast, your guide will pick you up to go to the train station, board the train and travel for an average of 1 hour and 40 minutes to the wonder of the modern world. On the train ride, you will enjoy dreamlike panoramic views, traveling parallel to the sacred river of the Incas (Vilcanota or Urubamba), appreciating the fields, local populations, villages, mountains, snow-capped peaks and of course the domestic flora and fauna of each place.

Once in the town of Machu Picchu, your guide and you will board the buses that will take you to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, a majestic icon of Peru, with a lot of religious and astronomical symbolism, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

Your guide will share with you the history, geography, archaeology and more of the legacy of our ancestors, taking you back to pre-Hispanic times and thus understand the importance and magnitude of what was the most important civilization in South America. After a tour of approximately 3 hours, we return to the town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy a magnificent lunch and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our driver friend will be waiting to take us in our van to the historic city of Cusco and rest at the hotel.

DAY 12 – IMMORTAL CUSCO

After having renewed and recharged our energies in Machu Picchu, the beautiful city of Cusco awaits us, with more history and that in a glorious past was the capital of the empire of the Incas, with loving and super friendly people, alpacas and llamas touring the city with tourists, art galleries, craft stores, popular markets, churches, museums, Inca and colonial buildings, etc. that catalog our city as the most beautiful city in all of South America.

This day and with our guide, we visit the most outstanding points of our city as “Sacsayhuaman”, considered the most important architectural portent of the city, whose constructions boast blocks of Megalithic style of dry fit, considered the Temple of the Sun and later destroyed by the Spanish crown so that its blocks are used for the construction of the Cathedral.

Then we will make a walk through the most typical and traditional streets of our city, visiting the famous neighborhood of “San Blas”, the street of the “12 angles stone” until arriving at the “Plaza de Armas”, where we visit “The Cathedral”, colonial jewel and pride of our city, which inside keeps canvases dating from S. XVII to SXX the majority elaborated by indigenous hands, as well as the work in wood of cedar, that jointly show the fusion and/or symbiosis of both cultures, legacy for the Cusqueños.

Finally, and after the recommendations of our guide friend, you will have the afternoon free to have lunch, visit the rest of the city at your own time and style, enjoy a different sunset from the main square of the city, visit a bar with live music, have dinner in a nice elegant restaurant before resting at the hotel.

DAY 13 – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Resting, after a very good night in the hotel and this time, very early in the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel to travel to the south of the city, where we will visit one of the most amazing natural and geographical attractions of the planet, a place that represents the perfect sample of the geological formation of our Andes: The mountain of colors “Palcoyo”.

Leaving the hotel we will take a couple of hours to reach our first stop, where we will have a tasty breakfast, then we will continue the trip for a couple of hours more to the Mountain of Colors, observing on the way the peculiar populations of colonial style, the different colorful costumes of its inhabitants, the constructions of adobe (sun dried mud bricks) houses and red tile roofs, small squares dominated by its colonial temples, etc.

Leaving the paved road behind, we continue our journey on a dirt road for a couple of hours more, appreciating this time the rural life, peasant communities scattered along the road, precarious adobe houses that are crumbling by the passage of time, corn and potato fields, schools and some improvised soccer fields.

Once we arrive at our destination, we will begin the hike at your pace, without demands or pressure, since we have the day to enjoy our adventure in the mountains. We will visit the site and take our time for photographic shots, being able to clearly appreciate the pigments that were formed over the years by the presence of oxides, minerals, temperatures, glaciations, atmospheric erosions, among others.

Returning to our van, we will head back to the restaurant for an energetic lunch and then return to the city of Cusco to rest in your hotel and enjoy more of Cusco by night.

DAY 14 – RETURN TO LIMA, ¡CAPITAL OF PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY!

This day we say goodbye to the Capital of the Inca Empire, we board the flight that will take us back to the city of Lima, once here, your host guide of the city will be waiting for you to pick you up and take you on a tour around the city, taking advantage of the fact that your connecting flight to your country is at night, Your guide and driver will show you around the city, accompany you to enjoy an exquisite Creole style lunch and at sunset and if there is time, a visit to the magic circuit of the waters can be arranged, where you can enjoy a show of water, lights and sound. An unforgettable night to say goodbye to the country.

To end our services, our host friends will see you off, take you to the international airport and help with boarding, leaving you safely ready for your flight.
