Tourism, being a social and sensitive activity in the eyes of the world, makes the traveler more involved in the personal life of the settler, of the society, and at the same time awakens his interest in knowing what is beyond a cultural destination. Nowadays, this is the main reason why many travelers move from their usual place to a less favored destination, whose main motivation is to be part of social and “altruistic” activities, for the benefit of those who need it most.

There are different ways to be part of an altruistic tourism with a social work that leaves a deep mark in the lives of children and adults, for example:

“Volunteering”, where social work is essential for the self-support of an organization and that this follows and fulfills the plans and projects for the benefit of the less favored. For example, volunteering in schools where there is a lack of teachers, volunteering in health centers, volunteering in shelters for abused animals, volunteering in rural communities, volunteering in orphanages in the region, volunteering for the protection of the environment, with training and awareness workshops on the effects of greenhouse gases and global warming, volunteering for the reforestation of damaged areas, etc.

Volunteering within the tourism activity helps the self-sustainability and self-sustainability of local populations, especially those who are far away from urban areas and whose participation in the tourism activity is not direct, at the same time allows to generate new and better social and economic opportunities for the youngest in society, with inclusion and in an equitable manner, thus empowering all people who are part of the change, especially women and girls.
