You will also enjoy sharing a night with the villagers of the beautiful “Taquile Island”, doing activities at home and outdoors with one of the local families who will be happy to host you and teach you about the community and rural life at over 4,000 meters above sea level (13,000 ft).

DAY 1 – WELCOME TO LIMA, ¡CAPITAL OF PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY!

Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, ANDINA AMAZONICA will take care of your personalized assistance in the country. Your host guide will be waiting for you with a sign and your contact name, ready to assist you and take you to your hotel. During the trip to your hotel, your guide will give you an introduction of our city, the benefits that the capital has and some tips so that you can make the most of your stay in the capital. This day will be for relaxing, visiting the surroundings and enjoying the city at your own pace, resting up for your trip to the Mother Jungle!

DAY 2 – TAMBOPATA JUNGLE (day 1)

Early in the morning, your host will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport. After boarding, you will fly from the coast, passing the highlands to the jungle, observing how the landscape changes in this area of our planet. After landing in Puerto Maldonado, our staff of Andina Amazonica, will be waiting for you to be embarked and travel by boat on the wonderful waters of the Tambopata River, lunch will be taken on the way to our lodge. At sunset we will enjoy the sunset and dinner, then at night, your expert guide in nature, will offer a night tour, taking you through the trails to explore the night life in the jungle, with all the necessary equipment to observe the activity of animals, insects, amphibians, arachnids, etc..

DAY 3- TAMBOPATA JUNGLE (day 2)

This day, we wake up before the sun rays illuminate our day, your expert guide will take you for a walk through the jungle, spotting birds of different species and colors that abound throughout the area, we will walk observing the beautiful wildlife, until we reach one of the most visited lakes or lagoons of the park, where you will have the opportunity to travel by canoe (small handmade wooden boats) through the waters, appreciating the aquatic life among fish and animals such as giant otters, capybaras, caimans, we can see flying macaws, the famous hoatzin (bird that represents the pre-historic life of the dinosaurs).

Once the activity is over, we will head towards “the canopy”, an observation tower of 25 meters high (82 ft), built in the middle of the jungle, with the purpose of being used by travelers to appreciate the grandeur of our Amazon from the top of the earth.

After savoring an appetizing lunch, to close our day and before returning to our lodge, we will visit one of the local farms, where the families that promote this enterprise will teach us about the importance of working with plants and other local and exotic Amazonian products, their medicinal properties, their use in jungle cuisine and understand why they are cultivated and cared for by their inhabitants.

DAY 4- TAMBOPATA JUNGLE (day3)

This will be the last day enjoying the amazon, we will take advantage of the early morning to take a 1 hour walk or a 15 minutes boat ride, watching more birds of different sizes, colors and their habitat, your expert guide will continue sharing his knowledge about the flora and fauna with you, This morning we head towards the famous “macaw clay lick”, located and hidden in a strategic and camouflaged viewpoint, we can observe hundreds of these colorful and large birds, perch in the clay lick in order to consume the clay of the place, a peculiar way of these birds to supplement the salt in their diet and take advantage of the nutrients in their diet.

In the afternoon, we visit another clay lick located on a cliff, but in this case, we can observe other mammals feeding in the same way, if we are lucky, we can see the white-lipped peccaries (wild pigs, which roam in herds from 5 to 30 individuals approximately), guans, deer, parakeets, etc..

Later, we return to our lodge for the last sunset in the jungle.

DAY 5 – FLYING THE ANDES & SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

After a last breakfast in the jungle, we take you back to Puerto Maldonado, from where you board your flight to the Sacred Capital of the Incas, ¡Cusco!

Once you land at the airport in the city of Cusco, our host guide will be waiting for you to take you to the enchanting “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, on the way and taking advantage of the day we visit places of tourist interest such as: “The Llama Farm” (very entertaining and cultural place for children and adults, where you can appreciate and interact with South American camelids: llama, alpaca, guanaco and vicuña).

After an appetizing lunch, we continue our journey to the hotel, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley, Urubamba. One of the most beautiful hotels for couples and families in our city, ideal for the stay of our guests.

DAY 6 – EXPLORING THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

After a warm night and an excellent breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the hotel to start the adventure and get to know a part of our fabulous Sacred Valley of the Incas, this day we will visit 3 places considered icons of the Sacred Valley:

The “Salt mines of Maras”, where we will observe all the active pools and worked by man since ancient times until today, the guide will give you complete information about why and how the pools are fed with salt water from inside the mountain, the process and salt harvesting.

Then we visit the archaeological site of “Moray”, considered as the Inca laboratories, where our ancestors captured all their agricultural knowledge related to atmospheric phenomena, astronomy and the lunar calendar to study, understand, develop and genetically modify the native products of the coast, highlands and jungle, which is why today the Peruvian territory produces more than 4,000 varieties of potatoes, national pride!

After an appetizing lunch in one of the most elegant restaurants in our valley, we travel through the mountains, with panoramic views of the Sacred Valley, heading northwest to visit the Architectural Complex of “Ollantaytambo”, an excellent place to learn about Inca architecture and engineering, embodied by our ancestors in the elaboration and work of the stone blocks for the construction of the Great Temple of the Sun. Ollantaytambo is a clear example of the ability of the Andean man to build architectural wonders without using today’s sophisticated technology.

In the afternoon, we return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day enjoying its services, surroundings and facilities.

DAY 7 – MACHUPICCHU, ¡WONDER OF THE MODERN WORLD!

Finally, the long awaited day has arrived! After an energetic breakfast, your guide will pick you up to go to the train station, board the train and travel for an average of 1 hour and 40 minutes to the wonder of the modern world. On the train ride, you will enjoy dreamlike panoramic views, traveling parallel to the sacred river of the Incas (Vilcanota or Urubamba), appreciating the fields, local populations, villages, mountains, snow-capped peaks and of course the domestic flora and fauna of each place.

Once in the town of Machu Picchu, your guide and you will board the buses that will take you to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, a majestic icon of Peru, with a lot of religious and astronomical symbolism, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

Your guide will share with you the history, geography, archaeology and more of the legacy of our ancestors, taking you back to pre-Hispanic times and thus understand the importance and magnitude of what was the most important civilization in South America. After a tour of approximately 3 hours, we return to the town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy a magnificent lunch and settle in the hotel and rest.

DAY 8 – SECOND DAY AT THE WONDER OF THE WORLD

After a well-deserved rest and a revitalizing breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the hotel to start the second day excursion in the wonder of the modern world, this day will be a day of adventure and climbing, as we will conquer the skies, ¡we will climb to the top of the mountain Huayna Picchu or young mountain! Representative icon of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu.

After achieving our goal of reaching the top of Huayna Picchu Mountain, where we can enjoy a 360° landscape, observe the majestic mountains, snow-capped peaks, the beauty and grandeur of Machu Picchu, we take the bus back to town for an appetizing lunch before boarding the train that will take us back to Ollantaytambo, where our driver friend will be waiting to take us in our van to the historic city of Cusco and rest at the hotel.

DAY 9 – IMMORTAL CUSCO

After having renewed and recharged our energies in Machu Picchu, the beautiful city of Cusco awaits us, with more history and that in a glorious past was the capital of the empire of the Incas, with loving and super friendly people, alpacas and llamas touring the city with tourists, art galleries, craft stores, popular markets, churches, museums, Inca and colonial buildings, etc. that catalog our city as the most beautiful city in all of South America.

This day and with our guide, we visit the most outstanding points of our city as “Sacsayhuaman”, considered the most important architectural portent of the city, whose constructions boast blocks of Megalithic style of dry fittings, considered the Temple of the Sun and later destroyed by the Spanish crown so that its blocks are used for the construction of the Cathedral.

Then we will take a walk through the most typical and traditional streets of our city, visiting the famous neighborhood of “San Blas”, the street of the “the 12 angle stone” until arriving to the “Plaza de Armas”, where we will visit “The Cathedral”, a colonial jewel of the city, in wich interior we can fin the most valuable treasures like canvases dating from the 17th to the 20th century, most of them made by indigenous hands, as well as cedar woodwork, which together show the fusion and / or symbiosis of both cultures, a legacy for the Cusqueños.

Finally, and after the recommendations of our guide friend, you will have the afternoon free to have lunch, visit the rest of the city at your own time and style, enjoy a different sunset from the main square of the city, visit a bar with live music, have dinner in a nice elegant restaurant before resting at the hotel.

DAY 10 – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Resting, after a very good night in the hotel and this time, very early in the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel to travel to the south of the city, where we will visit one of the most amazing natural and geographical attractions of the planet, a place that represents the perfect sample of the geological formation of our Andes: The mountain of colors “Palcoyo”.

Leaving the hotel we will take a couple of hours to reach our first stop, where we will have a tasty breakfast, then we will continue the trip for a couple of hours more to the Mountain of Colors, observing on the way the peculiar populations of colonial style, the different colorful costumes of its inhabitants, the constructions of adobe houses and red tile roofs, small squares dominated by its colonial temples, etc.. Leaving the paved road behind, we continue our journey on a dirt road for a couple of hours more, appreciating this time the rural life, peasant communities scattered along the road, precarious adobe houses that are crumbling by the passage of time, corn and potato fields, schools and some improvised soccer fields.

Once we arrive at our destination, we will begin the hike at your pace, without demands or pressure, since we have the day to enjoy our adventure in the mountains. We will visit the site and take our time for photographic shots, being able to clearly appreciate the pigments that were formed over the years by the presence of oxides, minerals, temperatures, glaciations, atmospheric erosions, among others. Returning to our van, we will head back to the restaurant for an energetic lunch and then return to the city of Cusco to rest in your hotel and enjoy more of Cusco by night.

DAY 11 – ALONG THE ROUTE OF THE SUN, TOWARDS “EL TITICACA”.

This day and after a good buffet breakfast, your guide and driver friend pick you up from the hotel to travel together towards the Great Altiplano, we head towards the city of Puno, where we will travel an average of 387 km (240.471 miles) traveling on paved road for an average of 8 hours approximately.

On the way, we take advantage of our time to make some stops of tourist interest, visiting the famous Sistine Chapel of South America “Andahuaylillas”, a temple dating from colonial times and treasures inside the most beautiful works of cedar covered with gold leaf, oil paintings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, murals depicting scenes of worldly life, hell, purgatory, the heavenly world, the product of European evangelization, among other works of art.

Then, we will continue our journey and visit a beautiful pre-Inca archaeological site, “Racchi”, considered the temple of the god Wiracocha, creator of life in the Andes, according to Andean mythology. It boasts majestic portents built of large adobe blocks that to this day survive the inclement weather and climate.

Continuing with the trip, your guide will offer you an appetizing boxed lunch that will be prepared especially for you to enjoy while we continue our journey to our destination, Puno.

Once you arrive at the hotel of your choice in Puno, your city guide will be waiting to greet you, meet you and help you with check-in, as well as give you some information about your next day’s itinerary.

DAY 12 – FROM THE FLOATING UROS TO TAQUILE

After a refreshing rest and breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel, to take you for a boat ride on the highest navigable lake in the world “Lake Titicaca”, once on board, you will enjoy unique and unforgettable landscapes surrounded by mountains, islands and the waters of the great lake.

The first stop will be in one of the “floating islands of Uros”, these floating islands were created by its inhabitants since time immemorial, survived the Inca and Spanish invasion and are still in use today. The floating islands of the Uros, arose from the need of ancient man to gain land for cultivation and to inhabit them. Andina Amazónica takes you to know the way of life, the customs of its inhabitants and the way they are constantly renewing these islands to prevent them from submerging in its waters.

After visiting the floating islands of the Uros, we continue our excursion visiting the “Taquile Island”, whose inhabitants and especially its “textile art” were decorated by UNESCO as “Intangible Cultural Heritage”, whose origins date back to ancient cultures such as the Pucara, Colla and Inca.

On this island, as soon as you disembark from the boat, your host family will be waiting for you at the port to assist you and take you home for your stay. In Taquile, you will live a different and unique experience, your hosts will lovingly show you the benefits of their space, they will share with you the food and its preparation, they will invite you to watch together the sunset incomparable with other places, you will have a night with bonfire and music watching the stars and constellations until you fall asleep in a beautiful and cozy room that they have prepared for you.

DAY 13 – FLYING FROM THE ALTIPLANO TO THE SEA

This day we say goodbye to Taquile and its inhabitants, we board the boat that will take us back to the city of Puno, from there in our van to the city of Juliaca where the airport is located. Your guide will accompany you until you board your flight.

Once you land at the airport in Lima, again your host guide will be waiting for you to pick you up and take you on a tour of the city, taking advantage of the fact that your connecting flight to your country is at night, your guide and driver will show you the benefits of the city, will accompany you to enjoy an exquisite Creole style lunch and at sunset and if there is time, you can organize a visit to the magical circuit of the waters, where you can enjoy a show of water, lights and sound. An unforgettable night to say goodbye to the country.

To end our services, our host friends will see you off, take you to the international airport and help with boarding, leaving you safely ready for your flight.
