PERÚ: FULL CULTURE, NATURE & ADVENTURE

Lima, Cusco, Puno, Ica, Nazca, Paracas (22 Days)

Peru is a destination that is experienced with the soul. A land of ancient civilizations, sacred mountains, and landscapes that awaken a deep spiritual connection, this country invites travelers to rediscover themselves as they explore settings steeped in energy, history, and ancestral wisdom. From the imposing Andes, where the Apus protect the villages, to the Amazon rainforest, considered the spiritual lung of the planet, Peru is a natural and cultural sanctuary that transforms those who visit it.

Andean spirituality, deeply linked to Pachamama, is manifested in rituals, customs, and ways of life that have endured throughout the centuries. Sacred sites such as Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco—the ancient capital of Tahuantinsuyo—and the Nazca Lines transmit a unique energy that connects the past and the present. Every stone, every ancestral path, and every temple tells stories of balance, respect for nature, and harmony with the universe.

Peru’s rich history is complemented by one of the most diverse and renowned cuisines in the world. Each region offers authentic flavors that reflect its cultural identity: on the coast, the freshness of ceviche and seafood; in the highlands, traditional dishes such as guinea pig, pachamanca, and Andean soups; and in the jungle, exotic preparations born of Amazonian biodiversity. Eating in Peru is also a cultural and spiritual act, an experience that unites tradition, flavor, and ancestral heritage.

Traveling through Peru is to embark on a journey full of magic, color, and meaning. It is to discover towns steeped in tradition, vibrant markets, ancestral festivities, and a human warmth that makes visitors feel at home. Peru is not only visited, it is felt; it is not only traveled through, it is honored. It is an ideal destination for those seeking adventure, spirituality, living history, and a cuisine that captivates all the senses.

Once you land at Cusco airport, our local guide will be waiting to take you to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the most elegant restaurants in Cusco. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the enchanting Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will take advantage of the day to visit tourist attractions such as the llama farm (a very entertaining and cultural place for children and adults, where you can see and interact with South American camelids).

After enjoying feeding these noble camelids, we return to our private van to travel to Pisac. Along the way, we will stop at places of tourist interest and viewpoints that allow us to take a break and enjoy the panoramic views offered by the valley, as well as take some unmissable photographs. Then, we continue downhill until we reach the colonial town of Pisac, where your professional Andina Amazonica guide will accompany you to visit the colorful tourist market, the ideal place to make your first purchases due to the quantity, variety, and affordability of the souvenirs you can find there. Here, pay attention to your guide so you are not deceived when purchasing “quality” items such as baby alpaca clothing or souvenirs made in Peru. After this short visit, we continue our journey to the hotel, located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one of the most beautiful hotels in our city, it is ideal for our guests from Andina Amazonica.

DAY 3 – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

Hike from Pisac downhill to the village

Today, after a restful night and a revitalizing breakfast at the hotel, we will exercise our bodies and acclimatize to the temperatures, altitudes, and atmosphere of the valley. We will take a hike of approximately 4 hours, first visiting the Pisac Archaeological Park. At this point, your professional Andina Amazonica guide will provide you with information about agricultural practices and corn cultivation (an important product of the Sacred Valley), as well as tubers such as potatoes and other inter-Andean products.

From this point, you will first climb up to the Pisac viewpoint, where the views are spectacular, then descend through the original Inca agricultural terraces, enjoying the panorama offered by the valley, as well as the cliffs and precipices that we will cross on our adventure. We will walk along one of the original Inca trails, still in use today, to the Intiwatana or solar clock, an astronomical and religious site in this Inca citadel. After exploring the site, We continue downhill for about three more hours until we reach and visit the Inca neighborhoods scattered throughout the mountain. We will pass by military towers, granaries, and storage facilities that were used to store dehydrated food in pre-Hispanic times. We will descend more narrow steps and irrigation aqueducts until we reach the lower part, where the colonial town of Pisac is located.

In the village, we will have lunch in a nice restaurant and then you will have a second chance to visit the village’s tourist market, stroll through its streets, and return to our private transport to continue the journey to the heart of the Sacred Valley, Urubamba, where you will stay in another incredible hotel for your enjoyment.

DAY 4 – OLLANTAYTAMBO – PACHAMANCA

Inca architecture and Traditional Food Festival

Today we will take you to the ancient city of Ollantaytambo, considered the last living Inca citadel, due to the architectural layout of its streets, which have maintained their originality over the centuries despite the Spanish invasion, and due to the customs and traditions, as well as the clothing that is still worn in many communities far from the town of Ollantaytambo. Your professional Andina Amazónica guide will take you through the typical streets of this beautiful town, where you can appreciate its original Inca urbanism. You will see the irrigation channels located in the streets, which are still in use, multi-family houses with their interior courtyards, and the emblematic simple and double-jamb trapezoidal Inca doors (a symbol of hierarchy and status in Inca times).

After visiting the village, your host will take you to visit the archaeological park of Ollantaytambo, an excellent place to learn about Inca architecture and engineering, captured by our ancestors in the crafting and working of stone blocks for the construction of the Great Temple of the Sun. Ollantaytambo is a clear example of the skill of the Andean people in building architectural marvels without the need for today’s sophisticated technology.

The excursion will leave you with a hearty appetite, so after the visits, we will take you to enjoy a wonderful outdoor banquet, the “Traditional Pachamanca,” whose name means “earth pot.” Your participation in the cooking is very important, as the chef will explain each Andean ingredient that goes into this exquisite stew, such as marinated lamb, pork, chicken, potatoes, and others, all cooked on stone and under the shelter of our mother earth. The combination of Andean flavors and the ingredients in the stew are a testament to the great diversity and nutritional value of the Inca Empire in its glorious past.

After enjoying this delicious dish, we will take you back to your hotel so you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your own pace and rest up for your next adventure the following day.

DAY 5 – MARAS SALT MINES, MORAY, AND CHINCHERO

Exploring the other side of the Sacred Valley of the Incas

After a cozy night and an excellent breakfast, your professional Andina Amazonica guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the adventure and discover the other side of our fabulous Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will visit the highlights of the day, such as: The “Maras Salt Mines,” where we will observe all the active pools that have been worked by man since ancient times to the present day. The guide will provide you with complete information on why and how the pools are fed with salt water from inside the mountain, the process, and the harvesting of salt. After enjoying this magical and unique place, we will take you to the archaeological site of “Moray,” considered to be the Inca laboratories, where our ancestors captured all their agricultural knowledge related to atmospheric phenomena, astronomy, and the lunar calendar to study, understand, develop, and genetically modify the native products of the coast, mountains, and jungle. which is why, today, Peru produces more than 5,000 varieties of potatoes, a source of national pride!

Then we will enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the most elegant places in the valley, with unique dishes that are unlike any others. After enjoying our meal and taking time to take photos, we will continue our journey in our van to the beautiful village of Chinchero, with its traditional layout, built on large Inca terraces. with its traditional market, where you can still see indigenous people coming down from the highlands and villages, bringing their high Andean products and bartering or exchanging goods. In Chinchero, you can also find beautiful squares, original Inca streets, huacas or shrines, and the large colonial church built on an Inca structure, which was possibly a very important shrine in all of Chinchero. Inside, there are beautiful 16th-century murals and 17th-century paintings, treasures of the town of Chinchero. The most outstanding painting is the “Virgen de Monserrat” (Virgin of Monserrat), attributed to the indigenous artist Francisco Chihuantito, where the artist’s signature can be seen on this beautiful canvas.

In the afternoon, we return to the city of Cusco and leave you to rest at your hotel, taking advantage of its services and surroundings. Tonight, at the time agreed with you, your hiking guide will meet you at your hotel, to give you all the information, details, and everything you need to know about your upcoming hike to Salkantay.

DAY 6 – CUSCO, THE PUMA CITY.

Exploring the capital of the Inca Empire

After a good night’s rest and an energizing breakfast, the beautiful city of Cusco awaits us, with its rich history and glorious past as the capital of the Inca Empire, with warm and friendly people, alpacas and llamas roaming the city alongside tourists, art galleries, craft shops, popular markets, churches, museums, Inca and colonial buildings, etc., which make our city the most beautiful in all of South America.

On this day, with our professional guide from Andina Amazonica, we visited the most notable sites in our city, such as Sacsayhuamán, considered the most important architectural marvel in the city, whose buildings feature megalithic dry-fit blocks. It was considered the Temple of the Sun and was later destroyed by the Spanish crown so that its blocks could be used for the construction of the Cathedral.

Then we will take a walk through the most typical and traditional streets of our city, visiting the famous neighborhoods of “San Cristobal” and “San Blas,” the street of the “12-angle stone” until we reach the “Plaza de Armas,” where we will visit the Cathedral, a colonial jewel and pride of our city, which houses paintings dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries, most of them made by indigenous hands, as well as cedar woodwork, which together show the fusion and/or symbiosis of both cultures, a legacy for the people of Cusco.

Finally, following the recommendations of our guide friend, you will have the afternoon free to have lunch, visit the rest of the city at your own pace, enjoy a different sunset from the main square of the city, visit a bar with live music, have dinner at a nice elegant restaurant before resting at the hotel and getting ready for your Inca Trail to Salkantay.

DAY 7 – SALKANTAY (day 1)

Training day for the actual trek.

After breakfast and at the agreed time, your high mountain guide will come to pick you up and you will travel by van for approximately 4 hours, passing through beautiful inter-Andean landscapes, rocky mountains, snow-capped peaks, green fields, and dreamlike places. Along the way, we will make a couple of stops of tourist interest. First, we will visit the archaeological site of “Quilla Rumiyoc,” considered the Temple of the Moon, a small but beautiful place where you can see a large rock carved into a crescent shape. Its possible use in ancient times may refer to a lunar calendar, as it definitely had a religious function.

Continuing on our journey and descending in the van towards the valley, we will visit the archaeological site of “Tarawasi,” another beautiful place that displays peculiar architecture in its finely crafted walls, which, when viewed together and using your imagination, could show us different engraved shapes or codes in its masonry.

After visiting this beautiful place, we arrive at the village of Marcoccasa, the starting point of the hike along the Royal Inca Trail. Today’s hike is easy, so we consider it a training day before starting the more demanding hike. We will arrive at the Salkantay Lodge & Adventure Resort in the village of Soraypampa, where you will spend the night in a very comfortable and exquisite space.

DAY 8 – SALKANTAY (day 2)

Hike to Humantay Lake

Today is a day for a medium to moderate training hike. This wonderful four-hour excursion will allow you to enjoy the scenery at a leisurely pace before spending the second night at the lodge. We will visit the famous and beautiful Humantay Lake at the foot of the snow-capped Salkantay mountain. The Salkantay mountain is located at the top of the camp and is covered with ice and snow, at an altitude of 6,271 meters above sea level (20,574 ft), the second highest after Ausangate at 6,385 meters above sea level (20,948 ft).

After relaxing and enjoying the view of the impressive Humantay Lake located at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level (13,780 ft), we will return to the camp to enjoy the lodge and its services and perhaps take advantage of the hot waters in its outdoor hot tubs before dinner. The lodge is located at 3,860 meters above sea level (12,665 ft), a good place to acclimatize to the atmospheric conditions around us.

DAY 9 – SALKANTAY (day 3)

Reaching the pass, the highest point of the Vilcabamba mountain range

Today is a day of great challenge. We start very early in the morning, before the sun sits on the mountain peaks, to take advantage of the cool day and reach the pass without any problems. We will walk to a place called “Río Blanco” (the name comes from the white color of the water, which comes from the snow-capped peak of Salkantay, white as milk). We will then skirt the snow-capped peak of Humantay in front of Apu Salkantay. Once we reach the pass or highest point of the hike, we will stop for a break at 4,620 meters above sea level. We will take a break and admire the landscape with the entire mountain range surrounding us. In front of us is the “Cadena de Vilcabamba” with its snow-capped peaks, Salkantay being the highest of them all.

At this altitude, it is very possible to see condors and falcons flying overhead. The majestic condor is considered the king of the skies and an Andean deity, a spiritual symbol and connection between the three Andean worlds, the messenger of the heavens. After resting, we descend to the next village, where our second camp, Wayra Lodge, which means “where the wind lives,” is located. We eat and rest.

DAY 10 – SALKANTAY (day 4)

Pachamanca in the cloud forest

After a delicious breakfast, we begin our descent into the cloud forest along the banks of the Salkantay River. As we descend, the air becomes warmer and more humid, the landscape greener, and we begin to see a greater variety of flora such as orchids, begonias, bromeliads, and also fauna along the way, including a variety of butterflies and insects native to the jungle. Continuing our hike surrounded by colorful diversity, we will arrive at another lodge to rest, “Colpa Lodge,” located on flat ground at the confluence of three rivers that flow down from the mountains.

It is here that the locals will serve us the stew of the Andean gods, the prized “Pachamanca” in the style of the area, a traditional stew whose ingredients include meats such as pork, chicken, and lamb; tubers such as potatoes and oxalis; vegetables, plantains, and yucca; all cooked with hot stones underground. While we wait for the food to cook, you can take the opportunity to explore the surroundings or take a dip in the cool waters of the river, or perhaps simply enjoy the jacuzzi with its panoramic view. Once the pachamanca is ready, you can enjoy the feast and rest at the lodge until the next day.

DAY 11 – SALKANTAY (day 5)

Exploring the countryside towards the Santa Teresa Valley

This will be a relaxed day, as the hike is of medium difficulty, crossing through different villages in the countryside. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local people who will greet us as we pass by. We will be able to appreciate the unique, quiet, and simple life of the locals as they tend to and work their fields, harvesting their bananas, passion fruit, and avocados, or dedicating themselves to collecting coffee beans and/or cultivating coca leaves. It is known that throughout this area, due to the warm-temperate climate, humidity, fertile soil, and abundance of water, farmers are especially dedicated to the trade of fruits, coffee, and coca leaves. so, along the way, you will be able to observe and learn to recognize the cultivation of these plants (the valley is considered the best producer of high-quality coffee beans in the world, so if you see local residents offering coffee beans or ground coffee, don’t hesitate to buy some and take it home).

Along the way, we will stop at some point to eat and recharge our batteries, then continue again until we connect with the dirt road and board a vehicle to take us to the archaeological site of “Llacta pata.” This is where we will rest and spend the night at “Lucma Lodge.” We will have dinner to recharge our batteries and continue the next day with the last leg of the hike.

DAY 12 – SALKANTAY (day 6)

Machu Picchu from another perspective

This day will be quite an adventure full of challenges, as the hike ahead of us is moderate to difficult. We will have to climb up to the Llacta Pata pass, which is an arduous climb but well worth it. From this point, we will have the pleasure of seeing the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu from a different perspective. Opposite where we are (Llacta Pata) is the wonder of the modern world. The view from this point is exclusively for travelers who dare to cross the mountains, the Vilcabamba mountain range, and reach this point, just as we have done.

After immersing ourselves in the magic of the place and visiting the archaeological site of Pata Llacta, which was also discovered by the American professor Hiram Bingham in 1911, we will have an outdoor picnic lunch with magnificent views of Machu Picchu, Yanantin, Huayna Picchu, and the entire mountain range that surrounds us.

Once lunch is over, we will begin the descent to the Urubamba River, passing through different villages and picturesque landscapes surrounded by vegetation typical of the area, such as various varieties of bamboo, banana plantations, cassava, coca leaves, coffee, cacao, etc. Finally, we will arrive at the hydroelectric plant, from where you can take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes (the entrance point to Machu Picchu). The train ride takes 40 minutes, or if you prefer, you can continue walking for an average of 2.5 hours until you reach the town. Once in Aguas Calientes, we will take you to your hotel to rest, but not before meeting up again in the evening to celebrate the great experience with a triumphant dinner to mark the successful completion of the trek and the challenge of the hike.

DAY 13 – MACHU PICCHU

Exploring the New Wonder of the Modern World!

Finally, the long-awaited day has arrived. After an energetic breakfast, your guide will pick you up to go to the bus station and board the bus to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, a majestic icon of Peru, with much religious and astronomical symbolism, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

Your guide will share with you the history, geography, archaeology, and more of the legacy of our ancestors, taking you back to pre-Hispanic times so you can understand the importance and magnitude of what was the most important civilization in South America. After a tour of approximately 3 hours, we return to the town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy a magnificent lunch before boarding the train that will take us back to Ollantaytambo, where our driver friend will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco to rest.

DAY 14 – FREE DAY IN CUSCO

Cusco in your own style

On this day, after such an arduous hike and adventures crossing the mountains, you will take a break, rest at the hotel until you wish, get up at your own pace, and go out for a walk around the city, enjoying what our city has to offer on your own terms. Let yourself be enveloped by this charming and mysterious city, take a breath of fresh air and enjoy a coffee somewhere in the main square, have an ice cream sitting on a bench in our historic center, visit a museum, eat at an elegant restaurant, or simply sit in front of our cathedral and watch the people pass by, the merchants negotiate, and enjoy your day.

DAY 15 – THE RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Walking on the colorful mountain “Palcoyo or Vinicunca”

Well rested after a good night’s sleep at the hotel, our Andina Amazonica guide and driver will pick you up early in the morning to travel south of the city, where we will visit one of the most amazing natural and geographical attractions on the planet, a place that perfectly represents the geological formation of our Andes: the colorful mountain “Palcoyo or Vinicunca.”

Leaving the hotel, it will take us a couple of hours to reach our first stop, where we will have a tasty breakfast. then continue the journey for a couple more hours to the Mountain of Colors, observing along the way the peculiar colonial-style towns, the different colorful clothing of their inhabitants, the adobe houses with red tile roofs, small squares dominated by colonial temples, etc. Leaving the paved road behind, we will continue our journey on a dirt road for a couple more hours, this time appreciating rural life, scattered farming communities along the way, precarious adobe houses that are crumbling with the passage of time, corn and potato fields, small schools, and some improvised soccer fields.

Once we reach our destination, we will begin the hike at your own pace, without any pressure or demands, since we have the whole day to enjoy our adventure in the mountains. We will visit the site and take our time to take photos, clearly appreciating the pigments that have formed over the years due to the presence of oxides, minerals, temperatures, glaciation, atmospheric erosion, among other factors. Returning to our van, we will head back to the restaurant for an energizing lunch and then stay in a beautiful and comfortable country house in the area. We will spend the rest of the afternoon with a local family, who will open their hearts to us, tell us about themselves, and share tea and dinner with us. This family home is ideal for all travelers who no longer want to return to Cusco and continue their journey towards Lake Titicaca.

DAY 16 – RACCHI – PUCARA – PUNO

Following the Route of the Sun to Lake Titicaca

After an Andean breakfast with the local family, we will set off in our van towards Puno, stopping at strategic points to take photos and enjoy the landscape offered by our mother earth. We will visit the first place of interest, the pre-Inca archaeological park of “Racchi,” considered the temple of the god Wiracocha, creator of life in the Andes, according to Andean mythology. It boasts majestic structures built of large adobe blocks that have survived the inclement weather and climate to this day.

Continuing the journey for approximately two more hours, we will arrive at Pucara, a picturesque village where the traditional “toritos de pucará” are made, a symbol of prosperity, fertility, and duality that you may have seen before on the roofs of houses in the city of Cusco. We will stop here to visit the pottery workshop and the museum with archaeological pieces from the pre-Inca Pucara culture, and we will have lunch here.

After satisfying our hunger, we will continue the journey for an average of two and a half hours until we reach the city of Puno. Once we enter the city’s viewpoint, we will begin to descend along the paved road to your hotel, where your city guide will be waiting to greet you, get to know you, and help you with check-in, as well as give you some information about your itinerary for the next day.

DAY 17 – LAKE TITICACA

Excursion to the Uros and Taquile Island

After a restful night and breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a boat trip on the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. Once on board, you can enjoy unique and unforgettable landscapes surrounded by mountains, islands, and the waters of the great lake.

The first stop will be at one of the floating islands of the community called “Los Uros.” These floating islands were created by their inhabitants since time immemorial, survived the Inca and Spanish invasions, and remain in use to this day. The floating islands of the Uros arose from the ancient people’s need to gain farmland and to inhabit them. Andina Amazónica takes you to learn about the way of life, the customs of its inhabitants, and how they constantly renew these islands to prevent them from sinking into the water.

After visiting the floating islands of the Uros, we continue our excursion with a visit to Taquile Island, whose inhabitants and especially their textile art have been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, with origins dating back to ancient cultures such as the Pucará, Colla, and Inca.

On this island, as soon as you disembark from the boat, your host family will be waiting for you at the port to assist you and take you to their home for your stay. In Taquile, you will have a different and unique experience. Your hosts will lovingly show you the wonders of their space, share their food and its preparation with you, invite you to watch the sunset together, which is incomparable to other places, and you will have a night with a bonfire and music, observing the stars and constellations until you fall asleep in a beautiful and cozy room that they have prepared for you.

DAY 18 – PUNO – LIMA – PARAGLIDING

Return to the city of kings to fly over its coastline.

Today we say goodbye to Taquile and its inhabitants, board the boat that will take us back to the city of Puno, and from there, our van will take us to the city of Juliaca, where the airport is located. Your guide will accompany you until you board your flight.

Once you land at the Lima airport, you will be met by your Andina Amazonica host who will take you to the Miraflores pier where your instructor will be waiting to give you a safety briefing for your tandem paragliding excursion. After putting on your safety equipment and receiving advice from the instructor, you will take a leap with your instructor, flying over the coastline and enjoying spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Miraflores district with its green areas, parks, surfers enjoying the water, modern buildings, and attractive neighborhoods. This activity lasts approximately 40 minutes to an hour, depending on the weather conditions of the day.

After the activity and returning to land, we will drop you off at your hotel so you can enjoy your free time and take your own time to explore the Miraflores district with the recommendations and suggestions of our Andina Amazonica host.

DAY 19 – CULTURAL LIMA

Historic center of Lima and the Larco Herrera Museum.

After a well-deserved rest and a delicious breakfast at the hotel, at the agreed time with our professional Andina Amazónica guide, we will first take you to explore the lively Miraflores neighborhood, with its romantic views of our coastline and beautiful boardwalk, to take a break and, if you are lucky, you may see some surfers and paragliders flying overhead.

Then we will head to one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Lima, the Pueblo Libre neighborhood, where our famous Larco Herrera Museum is located. It is considered the best museum in all of South America for the archaeological pieces it houses, pieces with the largest collection of pre-Columbian artifacts in the country, all of these objects made from clay, to extensive collections made from gold and silver. It also has an entire gallery dedicated to the famous “Erotic Guacos” collection, an exquisite collection that represents the veneration and worship of male and female fertility. Visiting this museum is the best way to introduce you to the beginnings of the Inca culture, a prelude to everything you will see and visit throughout Peru, to better understand how it originated and became a great empire in South America.

After the visit, we will offer you a delicious lunch on the vine-covered terrace of the museum’s cafeteria, a restaurant where you will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious dishes from our beautiful Lima.

After lunch, our host or professional Andean Amazonian guide will take you to the heart of the “City of Kings,” where you will visit the Plaza Mayor with its presidential palace, the Convent of San Francisco—including the underground catacombs—and the Casa Aliaga, considered the oldest mansion in the Western Hemisphere and still owned and inhabited by the 17th generation of the Aliaga family.

To end the visit on a high note, we will take you to a well-known Michelin-starred restaurant in our country, one considered for two consecutive years as the best restaurant in the world and the other as the best restaurant in the world in 2025, the famous Central or Maído.

DAY 20 – LIMA – NAZCA LINES – HUACACHINA

Flying over the enigmatic lines + Buggy & Sandboarding

On this day, refreshed with lots of energy and eager to learn, our Andina Amazonica host will pick you up from your hotel to begin the journey south of Lima, approximately a 4-hour drive to the airfield in the town of Nazca. Along the way, driving along the Peruvian coastline, you can enjoy the views of our arid coastline, passing through different towns that were originally demographic invasions. Your expert guide will provide you with all the information about what you will see along the way until you arrive in Nazca to board the plane for your flight over the famous “Nazca Lines,” drawn more than 2,000 years ago. The Nazca Lines were created in the town of the same name, located in the western desert of the Peruvian coast. The real purpose of these lines and the exact date on which they were made are still unknown, remaining a mystery to humanity to this day. One theory suggests that they may have been made for astronomical purposes and to worship all the constellations. After our professional Andina Amazonica guide explains this in more detail and takes you on a journey through time with stories and theories about these lines, you can draw your own conclusions about the reason for these unique markings in this part of the world. The flight takes approximately 90 minutes. Once we land, we will head to our private transportation to go to the famous and beautiful Oasis of Huacachina, where our next adventure begins on wheels. With our buggy, we will travel through the beautiful dunes for endless fun. But that’s not all! we will be waiting for you for the next activity, sandboarding, where we will slide downhill, taming the waves of sand and dodging the difficulties on it.

After marveling at the aerial view of the famous lines and having so much fun in our sea of sand, we will take you to lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea, but first we will have to drive for about 40 more minutes to arrive just in time to enjoy the dishes that await you and rest in your beautiful hotel overlooking the sea. Don’t forget to marvel at the sunset by the sea, an unmissable experience.

DAY 21 – PARACAS – BALLESTAS ISLANDS – LIMA

Biodiversity in the Paracas Nature Reserve

Another incredible day, this time enjoying what is known as the “Mini Galapagos in Peru,” due to the biodiversity of marine birdlife and incredible coastal landscapes in a completely different location far from the mainland. The Ballestas Islands are considered a jewel of the Peruvian coastline due to their natural formation eroded by the sea and the large number of birds that visit them.

On this day, your Andina Amazonica host will meet you to take you to the port on the Paracas Peninsula, where you will have the opportunity to set off in a speedboat and enjoy the entire seascape with panoramic views of the bay and the area known as the “Mini Galapagos of Peru.” During the tour, you will be able to enjoy the presence of a large amount of wildlife such as pelicans, flamingos, Inca terns, sea lions, penguins, hammerhead sharks, and even whales (the latter two depending on the season), all thanks to the presence of plankton brought by the cold Humboldt currents that mix with the tropical waters of the tropics.

During the excursion, your professional Andina Amazonica guide will show you the different tourist, water, and marine resources, including one of the most enigmatic lines made in pre-Inca times, the “Great Candelabra,” an elaborate design in the desert sands, whose theories will be shared by your guide. After this wonderful experience, which will take approximately 45 minutes, we will return to land to take our transportation and head to lunch before continuing our relaxing return trip to the city of kings, Lima. Enjoy your last night in the capital, go to dinner at a beautiful place, and rest to say goodbye to our beautiful country.
