Embedded between the mountains of the Peruvian Andes and more than 4,200m.s.n.m. (13,780 ft), is this amazing and magnificent natural formation, located in the province of Canchis, district of Pitumarca about 124 km (77 miles), south of the city of Cusco, has a depth of 150mts (492ft), with a length of 3 km (1,864 miles) long, has a great diversity of flora and avifauna, is one of the natural wonders that show the rain erosion and displacement of tectonic plates of millions of years that molded this natural formation.

The viewpoint of “Waraq Pata” is the highest point, where you can see all the natural rock formation and the depth of the canyon.

In our private transportation we head south, passing through different picturesque villages. - We make a stop in the town of Cusipata to have breakfast.
- Then we head to our destination, arriving at the town of Ananiso (starting point of the hike), we make a first stop at the viewpoint of “Waraq Pata” to observe the canyon, the valley and the waters coming down from the snowy Ausangate (the highest mountain in the city of Cusco), after the classic photographic shots, we head to the Canyon through a narrow but very picturesque path.
- Continuing we will arrive at the waterfall to enjoy the view and the waters, on our return, we will have the chance to observe the cave paintings that are thousands of years old.
- Returning to the village, we board our transport to return to the town of Cusipata, where we will have lunch (or if you prefer we will include a box lunch) and then return to the city of Cusco.
